How I get there

A wall of questions, then structure, then the interface.

ASK ME ABOUT

How do the console’s modes match the physical remote?

+

I read the remote guide and spec sheets before drawing. Every mode in the UI uses the name of the button crews already press.

Why scan a gateway instead of every lamp?

+

Crews were scanning one QR code per lamp, often on a ladder. Now they scan one gateway and lamps join as they power on.

How do you design for gloves and sunlight?

+

The installer and technician apps use 52px targets, high contrast and one main action per screen.
